With a very diverse business and product range Prisma Colour have identified the need for advanced options in product analysis and quality control. The investment in FTIR technology now gives Prisma Colour a fundamental analytical tool that can qualify all additive products produced across all markets within the rubber and thermoplastic industries.
FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) exposes a given sample to infrared light. The chemical bonds within the molecular structure of the sample will absorb different wavelengths from the IR light; the instrument will translate this through a mathematical process known as Fourier Transform and generate spectra that will be a fundamental finger print of the sample whether it is in its primary form or a blend of materials. Comparing this finger print to known spectra in a data base helps the operator to identify polymers and additives that are present in the sample.
We continue to develop and invest in our resources to enable us to serve our customers with timely developments. Our product ranges include Prismagum and Primasil for the rubber and silicone market alongside liquid dispersions, thermoplastic masterbatches, additive masterbatches and roto moulding powders. We collectively have decades of experience amongst our team of qualified technologists.
