Purchase Ledger Clerk - High peak

Established in 1991, Prisma Colour Ltd is a leading pigment and dye manufacturer located in Birch Vale, High Peak. We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated & proactive Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our team. You should have great attention to detail, be able to work on their own initiative and also work well as part of a team. The position will report directly to the Finance Director.

Role: Purchase Ledger Clerk – Immediate start

Salary: Up to £24,000 pro rata, depending on experience

The Purchase Ledger Assistant is responsible for processing a high volume of purchase invoices for the Prisma Colour Group. To include reconciling delivery notes to invoices and purchase orders ensuring quantities and prices are accurate and investigate any queries promptly. Ensure that all invoices have been authorised and entered onto the system accurately and in a timely manner. Responsible for credit card and expense card reconciliations, ensuring company policies are always adhered to. Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements and investigating any discrepancies. Preparation of the monthly payment run ensuring all invoices are paid in line with the relevant payment terms.

Role Responsibilities

Demonstrate strong organisational skills and be accountable for your daily workload. Demonstrate a systematic, disciplined working practice with clear follow up and close out notifications to customers. Ensure the Management Accountant & Finance Director are informed of progress and in particular are told of major problems and/or issues in a timely manner.

Handling supplier invoices ensuring matching to purchase orders and delivery notes.

Distribution of supplier invoices for authorisation to various departments.

Processing supplier invoices on Sage.

Monitor and review of outstanding invoices and prompt resolution of queries.

Reconciling supplier statements.

Reconcile the Purchase Ledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis.

Preparation of the monthly payment run.

Other Ad Hoc duties as when required.

Skills required :

  • Preferable, but not essential to have experience in a similar finance role
  • Experience of using Sage 50 or similar accounting software
  • Be proficient in Excel & Microsoft Word
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Have a strong work ethic

We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated production operative to join our Production Team. The successful candidate(s) will responsible for operating machinery and manufacturing plastics products to acceptable and defined quality standards. Full training will be provided. Please note that this is a demanding role, which requires attention to details and good housekeeping.

As a safety conscious employer we encourage good practice and adherence to procedures to ensure a safe working environment. The Candidate will have ideally will have worked within a manufacturing environment, have processing experience, capable of getting through a high volume of work and basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Job Role

The role includes;

  • Lifting and manual work
  • Operating the line and packing the finished products
  • Ensuring the line is efficiently changed when required
  • Performing quality inspection test to ensure the suitability of the finished product to defined standards.
  • Finished goods labelling, packing and preparation
  • Warehousing duties including storage of finished goods and supply of raw materials
  • Work within the organisation’s Health and Safety guidelines to keep work area and equipment clean, safe and well maintained.

Job Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, as part of the Quality Assurance team, you will be expected to assist with short-term technical and QC projects, using your skills in colour matching, correction and formulation development.

For those inexperienced in this field, full training will be given to the successful applicant also in the use of extrusion, open milling and injection moulding equipment to meet both customer and internal project deadlines
