It has been a testing year for most businesses but despite the difficult circumstances 2020 has seen Prisma Group’s continued expansion with the relocation to a purpose-built factory with over 85,000sq feet of space. Whilst the core of the new facility is a new building, we retained some parts of the old building for the offices and laboratory keeping original features where possible. The facility has been designed to streamline our production process and add valuable additional space for future expansion. The main fit out is nearing completion and we have begun moving production equipment from the existing site. Covid-19 has impacted the timing, but we should be completely moved across by the end of the year.

Early in the project we decided to invest in new equipment in almost all areas of the business to increase capacity with four new production lines being added. In totality this now gives us around 48,000T per annum of capacity. The new lines were installed directly at the new location and have helped ensure a seamless transition. Any move was not to be at our customers expense and the new equipment has resulted in no drop in capacity throughout the moving process. It was very important for Prisma Group to retain at all times our high standards of service and short lead times.

During the pandemic we have been working hard to continue to supply products going into the NHS, food packaging, fire systems, communication and COVID-19 testing. Our employees have been a credit to the company adjusting to the new working conditions and embracing change.

The new factory is located in the High Peak area of the Peak District National Park and will incorporate the majority of Prisma Group’s departments including Prisma Colour’s sister company Prisma Rubber Additives. The Rotational moulding and Additives divisions will remain at their current facility in Stalybridge. Given the tremendously difficult times we have all endured of late we are extremely proud of this new facility and will look forward to welcoming customers once the time is right to do so.

Prisma began manufacturing in 1991 and has increased it’s portfolio of products as well as the markets it serves. The continuous growth it has enjoyed has enabled the current expansion.  We have one of the widest product portfolios  in the marketplace, offering:

  • Thermoplastic Additives

  • Thermoplastic Compounds
  • Rubber Colour Masterbatch
