Adblend P91

The use of textiles as a means of reinforcement has been synonymous with the development in polymer technology from the earliest of times. Modern technologists now have an extensive array of materials at their disposal.

Short fibres such as glass, carbon, aramid or natural fibres have been added to many types of polymers to improve, modify and increase certain mechanical properties of the polymer compound.

Prisma Rubber Additives’ Adblend P91 is a masterbatch incorporating aramid fibre with polymeric binder and dispersing agents. Its unique format enables quick and efficient dispersion into the compound.

This provides the maximum level of physical properties, whilst providing mechanical reinforcement while maintaining flexibility and processability. Adblend P91 is suitable for compounding with a wide range of polymers such as NR, IR, BR, SBR, EPDM, NBR and HNBR.

Advantages associated with using reinforcing agents:

• Cost reduction in manufacturing

• Increased quality and service life of rubber articles

• Improved resistance on exposure to high temperatures.

• Material has no melting point and will only char at extreme high temperatures.

Under high mechanical, dynamic and thermal stresses, an excellent reinforcement performance can be achieved in the finished product with the Adblend P91. The Adblend P91 incorporates the highly resilient and very-lightweight aramid short-fibre pulp evenly into the rubber compound.

The aromatic polyamide aramid fibres provide the following properties:

• High flexibility

• Extremely durable; heat-, cut- and chemical-resistant

• Non-conductive

• Low flammability
